Once the abstracts is accepted, at least one of the authors must register for and present at the conference.
We welcome engaging posters that address a specific tribological topic that has academic or industrial relevance to WOM attendees and the greater tribology community.
All categories will be reviewed for quality and conference relevance, with the paper submissions (1 and 2) undergoing full peer review for technical quality. The Wear of Materials Conference provides a unique international forum for researchers and practicing engineers from different disciplines to interact and exchange their latest understandings.
All abstracts will be reviewed and authors will be notified about the acceptance by June 27th 2016. If the abstract is accepted for oral presentation, a full manuscript (“Research Paper” or “Case Studies”) must be submitted by September 2nd 2016. This manuscript will be peer-reviewed, and only upon final acceptance for publication in the special issue of WEAR, can it be presented orally. The final deadline for acceptance will be February 1st 2017. The acceptance of a paper after peer-review is absolutely mandatory in order for an oral presentation at WOM2017. Further information is included on the WOM2017 website.
Well attended poster sessions reporting new research results will also be held on several days during the program. Posters should include sufficient characterization of materials, topography and test method specifications so that other researchers can duplicate the experiments.
Awards will be given for the best posters.
In order to be included in the Conference Program and website as poster (without paper), abstracts must be submitted via the WOM2017 website no later than February 1st 2017.
Abstracts for oral presentations will be reviewed and acceptability determined by June 27th 2016.
Authors will be notified by June 27th 2016.
Complete manuscripts will be due by September 2nd 2016.
All manuscripts will then be assigned to certain category-field editors by the editorial chairman and forwarded to a minimum of two reviewers. This process has proved to be fast and reliable during prior WOM conferences. The entire reviewing, editing, and revising process will only be handled via Elsevier’s EES-system. No parallel routes or shortcuts are accepted.
The conference language is English; SI units must be used, and papers must be original contributions, not containing material previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
A delegate manual containing abstracts of all oral and poster presentations will be made available at the conference, and the proceedings containing papers of the oral presentations will be mailed to all registered delegates by July 2017.
If you do not receive acknowledgement for your abstract submission or you wish to make any essential revisions to an abstract already submitted, please DO NOT RESUBMIT your abstract, as this may lead to duplication. Please contact us (Please do not email credit card information under any circumstances) with details of any revisions or queries. Please quote your reference number if you have one.
