Christian Greiner, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany
Christian Greiner is a full professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His research focuses mainly on elementary materials science mechanisms for microstructural changes in metals under a tribological load. Before his current position, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, under the guidance of Prof. Robert Carpick, where he has studied the temperature dependence of nanoscale frictional contacts. He received his PhD degree from the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart in 2007.
